Garlic & Onion

Garlic and onion are two of the easiest crops to grow for fall, actually, garlic should be started sooner. I normally don't start onions from seeds, they take too long to mature, but I prefer to purchase the little onion sets from Home Depot for a very low price. This year I think their onion sets price has increased. You might wonder what recession huh? Here is what a bag of onion sets looks like, front picture.

and back picture.

I usually tuck them in any small corner that I can find in my garden, see them on the lower right corner near the peas.

For garlic, I use last year's harvest, my family couldn't eat all the garlic that I planted. Growing garlic is super easy, I put a small bulb in any corner of my yard and leave it in the ground for 6 or 7 months until Spring before pulling it up or harvesting it. Fresh garlic bulbs are so easy to peel and they are delicious with dumplings(or so I've heard). For me, I've just sauteed them with pasta and they are delicious, nutty and not to garlicky.

Here is a picture of a garlic sprouting.
