Giant Imperial Stocks
Every year, I can't wait until it is fall so I can plant one of my favorite winter flowers - giant stocks. I often used them as cut flowers. The fragance is so lovely that it reminds me of my garden.
I live near the coast in SoCal and I have been gardening organically for nearly 20 years. Recently, I expanded my effort to vermi compost, where just about everything goes into my worm bins. I love the idea of living in a farm but for now, this is where it is, a tiny urban plot. Feeding my family from a tiny plot of land has been my goal for the last 10 years, besides, fresh picked fruit & vegetables always taste so much better than anything bought from a supermarket.
Right now I'm about to pull out of my veggies out. I live in Chicago and really envy you having such a great long growing season.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that, but it's getting cooler now in South Cal and things are growing much slower than before.
