Mache
Mache is usually described as "A tender, velvety green sweet lettuce with a mild nutty flavour, having broad or narrow shaped dark or medium, round or spoon shaped leaves". I planted this type of lettuce a while back and they finally came up after I fertilized with compost tea.
Snapdragon
Morning glory that comes over the fence, from the neighbor's yard.
I live near the coast in SoCal and I have been gardening organically for nearly 20 years. Recently, I expanded my effort to vermi compost, where just about everything goes into my worm bins. I love the idea of living in a farm but for now, this is where it is, a tiny urban plot. Feeding my family from a tiny plot of land has been my goal for the last 10 years, besides, fresh picked fruit & vegetables always taste so much better than anything bought from a supermarket.
